Brain Development:

By 8 months, a baby’s brain has about 1,000 trillion nerve connections. By the age of 10, that number is reduced to about 500 trillion. As the brain operates on a ‘use it or lose it’ basis, early experiences are the defining factor affecting the rate of reduction in nerve connections. LESSON PLAN:

1. Introduce the lesson for the day by discussing the concept using the blackboard.
2. Call on selected pupils to demonstrate the lesson on the board.
3. Let the pupils repeat the stroke on paper.
4. instruct the pupils to pay attention to the correct desk writing position before writing activity.
5. Monitor the pupil's performance during the actual writing period.
6. Review the concept learned before the class ends.

FORMAL PENMANSHIP LESSONS:

1. Always demonstrate how a drill, letter or number is done. Count as you do the stroke and encourage the pupils to count silently with you.
2. Let the pupils sky write the drill, letter or number. They should do the counting themselves.
3. Have the pupils do imaginary writing on their papers/desk.
4. Let them perform the drills, letters or numbers on paper. The teacher sets the pace/speed in counting.
5. Discourage he use of sign pen. Pupils should use a ball pen with black ink.
6. For grades 1-4, pupils should draw margins on both sides of their paper. An imaginary margin or a margin guide may be used by upper grades.

WRITING POSITION:

1. Sit straight with both feet on the floor.
2. Tilt the paper to the left if the person is right-handed; tilt to the right if the person shows left-hand dominance.
3. The ball pen should be held loosely with the end tip pointing to the shoulder of the writing hand.

THE LEFT-HANDED PUPILS:

1. Identify pupils who shows left-hand dominance.
2. Cluster left-handed pupils in the classroom to address their needs.
3. Model the proper paper position. The paper should be placed at a slant to the right towards the left side of the body.
4. Hold the pen farther back than right-handed pupils for better visibility.
5. Use the right hand to keep the paper steady.
6. Hold the pencil in a below-the-line position to prevent wrist hooking.

YOUR TYPHOON SURVIVAL KIT

Being prepared is always one step towards survival. Here are some things that we think is important to have during times like these. Prepare them beforehand and keep them in a safe place at all times. Better yet, keep them with you, or in an area that is easy to reach and won’t get in the way of raging floods, etc.

Clean drinking water. Good enough for a week. Consider having at least 1 gallon per person.
Other drinks. Consider: juices in packs, carbonated drinks, coffee.
Food. Also good enough for a week. Consider:

Snacks that are easy to store and carry (biscuits, cookies)
Non-perishable canned food (corned beef, tuna, pork and beans, vienna sausage, etc.)
Candies to maintain sugar in body and keep acidity at bay
Bread that will last for a few days, for carbo load
Instant noodles, if you have the means to cook
IMPORTANT: food for babies and the elderly if you have some staying with you

Food utensils.

Spoons, forks, knives, paper plates, drinking cups
Non-electric can opener
Cooking stove and fuel, if possible
Plastic bags

Medicines. Consider having medicines for the following:

Fever and nausea
Coughs and colds
Hypertension
Diabetes
Diarrhea
Anti-tetanus
Anti-leptospirosis
Other prescription drugs that you need to take

First Aid kit. Must contain band-aids, gauze, tweezers, alcohol, antibiotic ointment, hydrogen peroxide, bandage scissors, absorbent dressings, antiseptic wipe packets, cold compress, gloves and thermometer.
Sanitation kit. Make sure that you have tissue wipes, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, diapers.
Toiletries. These include toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap.
Blankets, towels, comforters, pillows. You can put them in large garbage bags to keep from getting wet.
Extra clothes and underwear. Put them in plastic bags to avoid from getting wet. If you can, pack something that will last you for a few days.
Jackets, sweaters, socks, caps. And anything else that will keep you warm and dry.
Emergency lights and flashlights
Fresh batteries. Have reserves for batteries of different sizes, especially for radios and flashlights.
Radio. Must be portable, battery operated, has functional AM station.
Mobile phone. Make sure the battery is fully charge, and that you have a spare one, too, in case of emergency. Also consider walkie-talkies.
Cash. Banks and ATMs might not be available so make sure that you have cash with you.
Keys. Have copies of keys to the front door, back door, garage, car keys, etc.
Items for pets. Consider also having a leash, muzzle, cage and food for your pets.
Umbrellas and tents
Water pails and dippers
Floatation devices like life jackets, styrofoams, old tires, etc.
Rope

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS TO PROTECT

Many people have died trying to go back for these things, so it’s important that you are well-prepared already at this point in time. Keep these documents in a water-proof container:

Birth certificates
Insurance records
Medical records
SSS, Pag-ibig and Philhealth records
Identification cards
Bank account numbers and records
Emergency contact numbers
Contact numbers of family, friends and loved ones

It is important that you have an ID with you wherever you go. Also, a list of people to contact in case something happens to you. If you can, put your emergency contacts on speed dial.

An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about
what may happens tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain.
Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time - don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns .. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19 Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is
often a good "Thank you Jesus ."
27. Laugh.

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

Typing Skills

BASIC TYPING

For beginner in typing you can use these template to check if you hands is correct in handling the keyboard. We also used this reference for our students who avails our basic computer application. We also give them typing test to evaluate their speed.

Personal experience that we advice for the students is that they practice chatting with friends using YM, skype or any chat room that they have interest. It's really a big help especially the other person is waiting for their reply. Paying typing maniac in facebook can also help you achieve a typing skills technique.

For some computer users they don't practice the proper way of typing, it's ok as long as your hands is comfortable with the keyboards and can type properly. It is also important that atleast you know the location of each letter in the key board.

I’m reading difference magazines and books got some learning that if your just have a specific goal and they understand it well everything will follow. Here are the list of productivity tools for your employee.

PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS:

1. KEEP YOUR EMPLOYEES IN THE LOOP. Keep your people informed of your plans for the future so they can work towards one goal. This also moves them to think of new idea and even volunteer to work in a new projects. They are also able to assess whether their skills and knowledge will indeed be of use to the company.

2. TAKE TIME TO ASSESS THE STRETHS OF YOUR EMPLOYEES. When an employee works on something he likes, he will work very hard to finish that projects to the best of his abilities. In our job interview, we always ask they are applying for a specific position. It is important that he/she loves and enjoy what he/she will do.
